Making a Martyr in Medieval Iberia 589-1080

This project looks at multiple aspects of martyrdom within the medieval Iberian context. It is the first project to look at the cultural construction of Iberian martyrs through late antiquity and the early middle ages from the perspective of both the Christian Northern Kingdoms as well as Al-Andalus. The project runs from 2020-2025 and is part of RICH (Radboud Institute for Culture and History).
